Pope Clement VII and emperor Charles V and their retinue in front of an altar with an altarpiece representing Christ as the Man of Sorrows and God the Father in Heaven, both surrounded by angels; they are praying in front of a monstrace with the Holy Sacrament.
The emperor Charles V can be identified by his coats of arms on the banner held by his retinue; probably Pope Clement VII meeting him in Bologna in 1530 for the imperial coronation; predella showing Last Supper and Christ washing Peter's feet; no monogram.
